RC Car Action - January 2013

HOT FOR 2013 TLR 22SCT One of the biggest trucks to hit the short course scene late in 2012, the TLR 22SCT is sure to be a driving force in SC for 2013. Bred from the race-winning DNA of the 22 buggy, the 22SCT is an all-star on the track. The all-new truck features a 7075 aluminum chassis and can be set up as a rear- or mid-motor configuration for maximum tuning on any type of track conditions. KYOSHO ULTIMA RB6 Kyosho’s newest 2WD competition buggy, the Ultima RB6, is the latest in a long line of world-beating Ultima buggies and a radical departure from its predecessor, the RB5. Among the list of features on this all-new kit is the chassis, now made of aluminum and measuring 13mm longer than the RB5, that comes with the necessary parts to be built in mid-motor configuration with a 4-gear tranny or a traditional 3-gear, rearmotor setup, as well as to accept standard, short, and saddle pack batteries. All-new suspension geometry at both ends that has been optimized for the rigors of today’s racetracks make the RB6 a car to watch in 2013. VIPER RC SOLUTIONS ARC10 Viper R/C Solutions is the exclusive U.S. importer for the ARC10 Touring Car. With features like narrow 2.5mm graphite chassis, spring-steel CVDs, full plastic gear diff, and 7075-T6 aluminum throughout the car, the ARC10 is a fully capable and adjustable touring car for the club racer and professional. Expect to see this sedan at your local track real soon.

TRAKPOWER MS-1 BRUSHLESS SYSTEMS TrakPower is jumping into the brushless battle with their new MS-1 brushless speed control and motor combos. They’re available in 6.5T, 8.5T, 10.5T, 13.5T, 17.5T, and 21.5T sets to suit your needs no matter what type of vehicle you have. We don’t have a lot on these cool new systems just yet, but you can be sure we’ll be showing you more real soon. TEAM ASSOCIATED TC6.1 WORLDS CAR The latest evolution of Team Associated’s touring car builds upon the success of the TC6.1 Factory Team, itself a BRCA and ROAR National Champion. Factory Team vertical ball stud bearing caps, previously only available as an option, are now included to offer a wider variety of camber link and roll center adjustments to fine-tune the car for varying track conditions. The biggest change, however, is an ultra-narrow chassis made of 2.25mm-thick carbon fiber that allows for more chassis roll and higher cornering forces with minimal chassis drag. How well do the improvements to the Worlds Car work? It won the ROAR National title on its first try! ATOMIK V2MR 2WD BUGGY Atomik’s V2MR is a breakthrough for the brand; not only is it race-ready, but it’s also available in kit form! The V2MR 2WD competition off-road buggy certainly looks the part with a long plastic tub chassis that will accept a variety of battery types and can be built in either mid- or rear-motor configuration. Long-arm suspension is damped by large-bore threaded body shocks with lower caps and collars that have been anodized red, matching the motor plate and suspension brace. Racy, indeed! Further details were unavailable when this issue went to print, but we can’t wait to get our hands on one.
